Epidemiology

Understand and apply key concepts and measures used in epidemiology, including incidence, prevalence, risk, and rate, as well as the principles of disease causation and prevention.

Develop the ability to design and conduct various types of epidemiologic studies (e.g., cohort, case-control, cross-sectional) and understand the strengths, limitations, and appropriate applications of each study design.

Understand collection, analysis, and interpretation of epidemiologic data, using statistical methods and software tools to draw meaningful conclusions about public health issues.

Critically evaluate epidemiologic research literature, assessing the validity, reliability, and ethical considerations of published studies, and understand how to apply evidence-based findings to public health practice and policy.
