Description

The Associate of Arts (AA) in Interdisciplinary Studies program integrates multiple disciplines, allowing for a broad and flexible academic experience tailored to individual interests and career goals. Students in the program begin with a foundation in humanities and then design their own curriculum under the guidance of faculty advisors, drawing upon coursework from diverse academic departments such as Christian religion, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, and arts. 

Program Learning Outcomes

  • Communicate effectively in speech and writing, demonstrating skills such as creative expression, exposition, and argumentation
  • Interpret and evaluate experiences, literature, language, and ideas in critical, logical, and constructive ways
  • Develop aesthetic sensitivities and enhanced creativity
  • Cultivate knowledge of other cultures and appreciation for diversity
  • Construct an historical nexus for an appreciation of all other disciplines

Admissions Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Credentials earned outside of the US must be evaluated by an approved agency
  • GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions
  • Completed application for Carolina University

Graduation Requirements

  • Shall have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0;
  • Shall have passed all courses in the curriculum and made a C- or better in professional courses;
  • Shall have completed at least 24 of the final 30 hours with Carolina University.
