4 Credit Hours
This course uses Fourier Transforms, power spectrum, and correlation to analyze communication signals. Introduce the different forms of Amplitude Modulation (AM), Frequency Modulation (FM), and Phase Modulation (PM). Introduce digital signal transmission and switching technologies and the use of error-identification and error-correcting codes. Present and use probability distribution functions to evaluate a noise source and a communication-designed system to remove that noise.
